An official transcript is the University’s certified statement of your complete NMSU academic record, including coursework, grades, and degrees earned. Credits earned through transfer work are listed but do not include grades and are not included in the NMSU GPA calculation.
Whether delivered as a digitally signed PDF or a printed copy, the official transcript includes features that ensure the authenticity and security of the document.
- eTranscripts (digital transcripts) are delivered to any valid email address as a secure, certified PDF. Cost is $13.50.
- Printed paper Transcripts are delivered by first-class mail or, for an additional shipping fee of $25.00, by UPS Next Day delivery. Cost is $12.50.
- Printed paper Transcripts may be picked up, on the Las Cruces campus, by previously scheduled appointment only. Cost is $12.50.
To ensure timely delivery, we recommend that you have critical official transcripts sent electronically whenever possible.

Requests for official transcripts will not be fulfilled until all financial obligations to NMSU are paid. If the hold has not been resolved within five (5) business days, the pending transcript order will be cancelled and another request will have to be submitted after the hold is resolved. To resolve a financial hold on your transcript, you will need to contact University Accounts Receivable (UAR).
Additional Information
An unofficial transcript contains the same information as an official transcripts, including coursework, grades, GPA, and degrees earned. However, unofficial transcripts are printed on plain paper and do not include any features that ensure the authenticity or security of the document, such as the NMSU seal or the University Registrar’s signature.
Unofficial Transcripts are available, at no charge, from the University Student Records Office.
You can order an unofficial transcript:

Be sure to include the following information:
- State: “This is a request for an unofficial transcript.”
- Your name and phone number
- Aggie ID or last four digits of your SSN
- Birthdate (month, date and year)
- YOUR SIGNATURE AND DATE (attached or embedded as a scanned image or photo)
- An email address or fax number where you wish the unofficial transcript to be sent
When NMSU Student Records Office receives an apostille request, the staff will print the requested document(s), procure the signature of the University Registrar, and notarize the document. The document(s) and notary statement will be mailed, first class, to the address specified by you (the requestor).
It is your responsibility, as the requestor, to send the information to the State of New Mexico Secretary’s Office for the Apostille.

- To request a Notarized Official Transcript, include the following information:
- A note that this transcript order is to be Notarized. Please make the Notary request very clear!
- Your current name and any former names you might have used while enrolled at NMSU
- Aggie ID number or last four digits of your Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Your daytime telephone number (in case we have questions)
- Number of transcripts you want notarized
- Address to send the notarized transcript. The student is responsible for providing an accurate mailing address to ensure the documents are received in a timely manner.
- Your signature
- The cost for a notarized transcript is $15 each. Make the check or money order payable to New Mexico State University.
- The notarized transcript will be sent to the address you specify by USPS First Class Mail. If you want delivery other than USPS First Class Mail, you must enclose a pre-addressed, pre-paid air bill with your request.
- Mail the request and the check/money order to:

Las Cruces, NM 88003 - Student receives the documents in the mail (documents may be picked up, at the Las Cruces campus, by previously scheduled appointment only).
- Student prepares the Apostille Form as stated on the website for the Secretary of State indicating where he/she is sending the document.
- Student mails the documentation and forms with the check or money order for the fee to the Secretary of State’s Office.
- The Apostille is affixed to the transcript by The Secretary of State’s Office and sent to the address indicated by the student in their form.
