Spring 2023 mini-semester 2 (MS2) runs from March 20 to May 12.
The last day to add a Spring 2023 MS2 class is March 23.
Mini-Semester classes can help you
- maintain a full course load for scholarship purposes.
- maintain or improve your GPA.
- earn additional credits toward graduation.
- gain academic success skills (FYEX courses).
What classes are offered?
Eight week mini-semester classes, being offered on your campus, can be found by selecting the part of term filter that you are interested in attending:
- on the Student->Registration->Look Up Classes link in your my.NMSU Student portal,
- to see all classes being offered, hold SHIFT and the down arrow to select all in the "Subject" filter box
- select "First 8 Weeks" or "Second 8 Weeks" in the part of term box
- then click the "Section Search" button, at the bottom of the page
- on the NMSU Course Lookup page, you can currently search by part of term for one subject at a time

How do I register for a mini-semester class?
If you are a current NMSU student, log in to your myNMSU Student portal, and register for a mini-semester class just like any other class.
If you are a new student, you must be admitted before registering. Visit the Undergraduate Admissions website or contact Admissions at (575) 646-3121 or toll-free at (800) 662-6678 for more information.
Important Mini-Semester dates
- March 20 - Classes begin
- March 21 – Last day to add (without instructor’s permission)
- March 23 – Last day to add (instructor’s permission required)
- March 29 – Last day to cancel a class (with 100% refund)
- April 19 – Last day to drop with a “W”
